A blank canvas

I spent the past two days sanding, scraping and patching the walls in our spare bedroom, then the sun made an appearance this afternoon and I started undercoating the walls. The rain has meant the DIY renovation of this room has taken a couple of weeks longer than expected while waiting for render and plaster to dry and for long enough periods of sunshine to paint.

The ceiling is done and the walls will be painted to match in Dulux 'vivid white' (the same colour used throughout our home). A friend who is living with us is moving into the room, so it will be her blank canvas to decorate as she pleases. I am impatient to have it finished (as is she I'm sure) so that I can move on to other projects.

One of the things I love most about having pure white walls in my home is that it really does create a blank canvas with so many decorating possibilities.

You can keep it all white...

...or add a gallery and pops of black for a more dramatic look...

...add warm neutral tones and textures for Winter...
