La Maison Champs Élysées

La Maison Champs Élysées is a Parisian hotel decorated by Martin Margiela in a mix of classical and avant-garde styles in black and white.  I love it!  Honestly, I would move in tomorrow (or the day after because it takes more than 24 hours to get to Paris from Sydney).  The fabulous location less than a block from the Champs Élysées and the Tuileries is a big plus too.

The suites are amazing.  My favourite is the Gilded Lounge Suite, decorated with wallpaper made from black and white photographs of the gilded lounge on the second floor of the hotel, reproducing the ornamental richness of Napoleon III style in trompe-l’œil fashion.

The Curiosity Case Suite is all black with a wall devoted to a curiosities case displaying various objects and texts.

The Lost Moldings Suite is all white with wooden mouldings that start and finish at random.
